Hirving Lozano, Jesus Corona among Mexican stars in European preseason
MEXICO CITY -- Hirving "Chucky" Lozano turned 22 this weekend, and to celebrate he scored his first goal and got his first assist with PSV in a friendly against De Treffers.
In Porto, Jesus "Tecatito" Corona also picked up a goal and assist in FC Porto's 4-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna.
Meanwhile, Raul Jimenez and Benfica had a deplorable performance in Arsenal's Emirates Cup, where Benfica lost 5-2 to Arsenal and 2-0 to RB Leipzig.
Here's a look back at the Heroes and Villains from the Mexican players in Europe:
Days after making his debut in a Europa League playoff against Croatian side NK Osijek, Lozano appeared in PSV's starting 11 in a friendly against De Treffers.
Lozano scored and gave an assist in PSV's 4-0 win. Now the team will travel to Croatia for the second leg of their Europa League playoff series against Osijek.
It will be interesting to see if manager Phillip Cocu decides to include Lozano in the XI. If he does, Lozano will have an important opportunity to help PSV continue their Europa League run.
