Real Madrid star Ronaldo tells Perez: Do not sign Monaco striker Mbappe - report

Real Madrid are currently pressing ahead with their transfer plans as they target more silverware next season.

It has already been a summer of change at the Bernabeu, with the likes of James Rodriguez, Pepe and Fabio Coentrao leaving for pastures new.

Real Madrid have so far signed Theo Hernandez and Dani Ceballos from Aletico Madrid and Real Betis respectively, but manager Zinedine Zidane is eying more reinforcements.

His top target in Monaco teenager Mbappe, who bagged 26 goals during a fine breakthrough season that ultimately ended with the Ligue 1 side being crowned champions of France.

But Spanish outlet Diario Gol have sensationally claimed Ronaldo has held talks with Perez about a potential £161million deal. It is said he fears the arrival of the 18-year-old will hamper his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or further down the line.

And he is also worried that a transfer for Mbappe could force him out of Zinedine Zidane’s side.

The report adds the France international is respectful of Ronaldo’s high status at the club given all he has achieved during his eight years in Spain.

But the Monaco striker feels he is well-positioned to usurp the former Manchester United star should a deal go ahead.
