Allies like the U.K. that didn’t join the U.S.-Israeli assault on Iran but are facing fuel shortages should “build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT,” President Donald Trump said this morning in a post on Truth Social.
“You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us,” he said, adding that Iran had been “essentially, decimated.”
“The hard part is done,” he said. “Go get your own oil!”
In a second post shortly afterward, Trump said France had been “VERY UNHELPFUL” because it had not allowed planes headed to Israel with military supplies to fly over its territory.
The comments come amid renewed questions over Trump’s commitment to seeing the Strat of Hormuz fully reopened before ending the war.
