Colombia were the better side from first whistle to last — quicker, sharper and dominant for long spells against a Ghana team that ran hard but rarely threatened.
If there’s a name Ghana will remember fondly, it’s Lawrence Ati-Zigi, whose string of smart late saves kept the margin at one and spared his side a heavier defeat.
For Colombia head coach Nestor Lorenzo, the final scoreline barely reflects his team’s control. It created enough to have won this comfortably, and against sterner opposition in the next round they will want to be far more clinical.
But that is a worry for another day. Colombia roll on!
