The star-studded U.S. Open mixed doubles competition is underway in Queens, N.Y.
Several past Grand Slam champions are competing in this year’s tournament, but like last year, the singles stars are struggling against top doubles specialists, with Novak Djokovic/Aryna Sabalenka losing to Kateřina Siniaková/Henry Patten 4-2, 1-4, 2-10.
The most anticipated duo of the tournament, Carlos Alcaraz/Serena Williams, will take the court later today, as will Italians Sara Errani/Andrea Vavassori, the two-time defending champions.
