Kwon, 28, came through Wimbledon qualifying, but his route to the tournament has been even more complicated than that.
He had to complete compulsory military service in South Korea, which interrupted a career in which he memorably took a set off Novak Djokovic on Centre Court in 2022.
After 18 months away, he isn’t quite on Centre Court again, but his flashy tennis and foot speed should give Paul of the U.S., who loves a high-octane match, some trouble.
