Nobody who has followed the NFL offseason needs a reminder of the threat the Seahawks face in the NFC West — the same Los Angeles Rams team that pushed them to the limit in the divisional race and NFC Championship Game last season has bolstered its defense with the superstar acquisitions of Trent McDuffie and Myles Garrett and maybe the return from retirement of legendary pass rusher Aaron Donald.
The uber-talented San Francisco 49ers core remains, with another future Hall of Famer, wide receiver Mike Evans, added to the group. Even the basement-dwelling Arizona Cardinals are getting a refresh with new head coach Mike LaFleur.
Less heralded is the path the Titans must face in order to return to contention in the AFC South, but it may be even more difficult. First-year head coach Liam Coen got Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars back to the top of the division last year, and the Houston Texans remain perennial contenders thanks to their loaded defense.
The Indianapolis Colts may have joined their division rivals in the postseason last year if not for a devastating Achilles injury to quarterback Daniel Jones in Week 11 — and all reports out of Colts training camp point to Jones being fully healthy by Week 1. Good luck to Robert Saleh, Cam Ward and company trying to make a splash in that group.
