I’ve reserved judgement on the 2026 regulations, just given the tweaks made back during the Miami Grand Prix weekend and the string of tracks F1 has race at since. Silverstone was always going to be a big test, and it’s strange to see drivers essentially looking like sitting ducks at times as others zip past at the end of the straight.
That being said, the ‘yo-yo’ style racing is exciting at times, like the battle with Verstappen, Russell and one of the McLarens earlier on.
Meanwhile, Hamilton and Antonelli have pulled far ahead of the pack, the younger Italian driver within half a second of the seven-time world champion. Can the new guard overtake one of the sport’s G.O.A.T.s?
