Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen are two keys for the Cavaliers to get back into this series. Their length around the rim creates massive issues for Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, and Mobley, in particular, has the athleticism to help contain Brunson and the Knicks’ dangerous wings.
But so far, Mobley’s maddening inconsistency has shown up this series. After a 14-point first half in Game 2 when he showed his ability to score both inside and outside, Mobley did not even take another shot after halftime.
Allen, meanwhile, had a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double but wore down as the game went on, and Brunson and Towns found ways to get around him to the rim.
The chaos that Cleveland’s two best defenders can cause is paramount to them getting back in this series.
