The jersey Paige Bueckers wore in her WNBA debut recently sold for a record $64,720, collectibles store MeiGray reported Friday.
According to the store, the Bueckers jersey, which she wore on May 16, 2025, went for more than twice the previous mark for a game-worn WNBA jersey: $32,150, paid for a jersey A’ja Wilson wore in the 2025 WNBA Finals.
It was also the highest public sale for any women’s sports game-worn, photo-matched item, according to MeiGray.
When asked Saturday about the lofty price paid for her jersey, Bueckers smiled and shook her head in amazement.
“That’s insane to me, just thinking about it,” Bueckers told reporters. “It’s crazy. That much money is insane to me.
“I wouldn’t even pay $10 for my own jersey.”
Bueckers was the No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, just days after leading UConn to a national championship. The guard scored 10 points in 29 minutes as the Dallas Wings fell 99-84 to the Minnesota Lynx.
It was a modest first game, but Bueckers went on to be named WNBA Rookie of the Year. She finished the season averaging 19.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. Her play earned her an All-Star selection and a place on the All-WNBA Second Team.
Dallas finished 10-34 in Bueckers’ rookie campaign, tied with the Chicago Sky for the worst record in the league. That led to the Wings getting the No. 1 selection in the WNBA draft again, which they used on Bueckers’ former UConn championship-winning teammate Azzi Fudd.
The most expensive fee ever recorded for a piece of women’s sports memorabilia, according to Sports Collectors Daily, is believed to be the $125,000 paid for Billie Jean King’s game-used racket from the 1973 “Battle of the Sexes.” The racket from King’s famous match against Bobby Riggs sold for the hefty fee as part of Bonhams’ “Voices of the 20th Century” auction held in New York in 2017.
