As reported by David Ornstein in The Athletic this morning, Forest have opened negotiations over the potential signing of Harrison Armstrong from Everton.
Talks for the 19-year-old midfielder, who has made 22 first-team appearances for Everton, centre on a deal worth around £40million ($54.4m) plus a sell-on clause.
Earlier in the window, Tottenham rejected an offer from Forest for midfielder Lucas Bergvall, as they looked to sign a replacement for Elliot Anderson, who joined Manchester City in a £116 ($157m) deal.
There are also likely to be exits from the City Ground, with Omari Hutchinson and Arnaud Kalimuendo both left out of the squad at Anfield.
Hutchinson, 22, has been linked with AC Milan, while Eintracht Frankfurt held an interest in Kalimuendo,24, who was on loan with them last season. Defender Morato, 25, could also be allowed to depart.
